Owner / CEO

Kate started Luna Bookkeeping in 2020. Working in multiple industry sectors with over 15 years in executive administration and marketing communications, Kate understands business.

While owning and running her own businesses, Kate realized her passion for financials. She fell in love with the order and puzzle problem solving that comes with bookkeeping. 
With many years of bookkeeping experience and a professional bookkeeping certification from Langara College, Kate brings knowledge, expertise and an understanding / non-judgmental outlook to support you and your business.

Chris McLaughlin

Technical Director

Chris is co-owner of the business and Kate's husband. He started his working life in finance, and has played many roles since, most recently running a successful home renovation company.

He brings a wide array of experience including knowledge of multiple industries along with intelligence, empathy and a high level of customer care.

Rosie Kaur

Bookkeeper

Rosie holds a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Regina. Following graduation, she moved to British Columbia to commence her career in the accounting field. She has a strong interest in helping individuals and businesses stay organized and financially informed through record-keeping and day-to-day financial management. She loves the satisfaction that comes from meeting deadlines and ensuring clean, up-to-date books.

Irina Paris

Bookkeeper

Irina started working in accounting and finance straight out of university after finishing her Business Administration degree.                                                         

She has 7+ years of experience in bookkeeping and loves the excitement of deadlines and the fast paced environment that comes with it. Whatever questions come her way, Irina always enjoys the challenge!

Jenn Rapske

Operations Manager

Jenn started working for Luna Bookkeeping in October of 2022. She brings over 15 years of administrative experience leading into management. She has extensive understanding in business operations, relationship management, and team building. Jenn has a passion for refining organizational processes to streamline for efficiency, ultimately leading to increased productivity and enhanced operations. She enjoys employing her creative problem-solving skills to work to address challenges and has a genuine ability to build sincere customer relations.

In her spare time, you can find Jenn walking outdoors, creating in the kitchen, and enjoying quality time with her son, family and friends.

Kelsey Vardon

Bookkeeper

After nearly 20 years in management and becoming a parent to two young children, Kelsey was ready for a lifestyle that allowed for more balance and family time. Reflecting on her early passions, especially her love for numbers and accounting, she decided to pursue a career in bookkeeping.

Today, she brings her strong leadership background, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy into a role that aligns with both her strengths and the life she wants to create.

Kerri Simkins

Bookkeeper

After graduating with a certificate in Bookkeeping for Small Businesses from the University of the Fraser Valley, Kerri started working at Luna Bookkeeping in July of 2022. She loves the almost puzzle-like nature that comes with bookkeeping and the feeling of satisfaction you get when you have a clean, up-to-date set of books!

When not working, you can find Kerri out in the forest walking with her two dogs, at the barn riding her horse or curling up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn to watch a good movie!

Stephanie Martin

Senior Bookkeeper

Stephanie earned her humble beginnings in a clerical position with the RCMP in the financial and procurement section. During the pandemic she began her quest for knowledge and acquired her Bookkeeping for Small Businesses certificate with the University of the Fraser Valley. With this achievement unlocked, she followed up with a certificate from Bookkeeper Launch, and her QuickBooks ProAdvisor certificate. After accumulating years of experience in the Restoration/Construction and Accommodation industries, she joined Luna Bookkeeping in 2024 and utilizes her passion for optimization, efficiency, and creative problem solving skills.

Nicole Woodfine

Nicole is a numbers enthusiast with a passion for finance. 

After graduating with a certificate in Bookkeeping for Small Businesses from the University of the Fraser Valley, she transitioned from a daycare career to follow her love for numbers and organization. She prides herself on her meticulous attention to detail, ensuring your records are not just accurate, but impeccable. Her goal is to bring precision, insight, and financial well-being to individuals and businesses.

Val Castro

Bookkeeper

Val's expertise in the realm of business and finance spans over two decades, supported by her distinguished university degree in Marketing & Communication. However, when the pandemic hit, she decided to take a bold leap and follow her passion for numbers. This led her to enroll in the Accounting & Payroll Administrator diploma program at Vancouver Career College, which she completed in 2021. Val's commitment to continuously learning and adapting to new challenges aligns well with the values of Luna Bookkeeping.

Rachel Martin

Administrative Assistant

Rachel’s journey into bookkeeping started in an unexpected place - behind a desk as an Administrative Assistant with the RCMP. While helping out with the occasional small financial tasks, she discovered she actually enjoyed the number side of things! Inspired by her sister, a bookkeeper herself, Rachel realized this might just be the perfect path for her too. She soon joined the lovely team at Luna Bookkeeping as an Administrative Assistant on the pathway to becoming a Junior Bookkeeper. She began taking courses at the University of the Fraser Valley to turn her curiosity into a career. Now, Rachel is happily diving into the world of bookkeeping and loving every minute of it!
